In Too Deep – Deleted Scenes

By popular request, I’m making these available online. They have been revised to take place fully outside of the timeline in In Too Deep because they didn’t really fit. The hunt made more sense within the story. So consider this a little bonus, but I haven’t gone through them as thoroughly as I probably should yet so please forgive any little issues.

“Could you stop pacing?” Adam grumbled, “You’re going to wear a hole in the floor.”

“Sorry,” Brody muttered. It was his house and everyone was mostly dressed. Cufflinks, bowties, and boutonnieres were still lying around but it was early. They were all getting ready for Adam’s wedding which was in just a few hours.

“I’ve never seen you like this, man. Why are you stressing?”

“After everything last week, you expect me to be calm? Besides, she’s stressing over meeting Mom and Dad, as if she’s the only woman with tattoos.” He rolled his eyes at his brother.

“You are both fine. It’s not like you two are ever apart if neither of you are working. You need to chill.” Then the smug bastard laughed. “You know Mom and Dad are going to be fine with her ink. It’s not like the rest of us don’t have more than you.” That included his parents, but he was already coming up with ideas he wanted Fallon to put on him.

“I know, but she’s with Jess and Jamie right now. She was anything but excited to be making another trip to the salon.”

Adam laughed. “She didn’t want to leave your side. She misses you just as bad when you’re both at work. She just doesn’t freak out like you do.”

Tomahawk elbowed Adam. “I don’t know. Do you ever see her primping at work? I sure as hell don’t.”

“True,” Adam laughed, “Not that she needs too. She’s just one of those women who are smoking hot no matter what.”

Brody smiled, “She is. Even first thing in the morning when she rolls out of bed all grumpy.”

“You’re crazy.” Adam laughed out loud. “Only you would find a woman that dangerous, sexy when she wakes up pissy.”

“Doesn’t take much to put her in a good mood.” Brody shrugged, thinking about how he woke her up that morning.

Tom rolled his eyes and half-jokingly asked, “So when are you two getting hitched?”

“Leave him alone,” Dakota muttered.

Adam interjected. “Wait, what? You popped the question?”

Brody blushed but nodded. “I did. I want to make it official.”

Tom gaped.

Dakota slapped Brody on the back. “I figured it was only a matter of time.”

“Of course you would. I just can’t believe you didn’t tell me sooner.” Adam’s gave him a bear hug. “I’m happy for you bro.”

“I look ridiculous,” Fallon muttered as she stared at her reflection in Jamie’s mirror. She was in a really sexy emerald green strapless dress, but her tattoos sort of ruined the effect. Her naturally curly hair was straightened into a red sheet that brushed her ass. Both her nails toenails were painted a Scarlett red to match her hair and shiny painted lips. She felt like a goddamned clown.

All thanks to Jess and Jamie who dressed her up for the wedding. She had no clue how she was going to walk in the freakishly tall, strappy nightmare they called shoes. In grass no less, because the ordeal was taking place at Lake Victoria Bed and Breakfast. Apparently they had a really gorgeous set up, complete with a bridge and tents.

“You look amazing,” Jess grinned.

Jamie added, “Brody’s going to love it. You look incredible.”

Fallon pointed to her arms, “I’m meeting his parents looking like… like… Biker Bitch Barbie.” throwing up her hands she walked away and nearly fell on her face in the damned heals. “I can’t even walk in these,” she sniped.

Jamie burst out laughing but Jess took her arm, rolling her eyes. “Look, Fallon, I’ve met Rachel and Roger and they both have tattoos. You just won’t see them. They adore Danika, and Adam is pretty much covered in ink. I don’t think they’ll judge you based on your tattoos.”

She knew that and sighed. “I just know I’m going to say or do something and they’re going to hate me. They sound fucking perfect, and I’m not.”

“Oh stop,” Jess said. “Just stop. They’ll love you, if for no other reason than you saved their sons life. But you love him. You’re good for him. And you make him happy for the first time in a long time. Trust me, they will adore you.”

“Fine.” Fallon grumbled and took another glance at the mirror. “Is all the makeup necessary?” It was basically a plea.

“No, but it looks good on you, so let’s go. Sooner we get there, the sooner you can stop being so ridiculous.” Jamie tugged her toward the door. “He’ll see you, swoon, and convince you that you look like a million bucks.”

“Fine,” she muttered.

Both Jess and Jamie looked phenomenal with their blond hair curled and pinned back off their faces. There was makeup light and airy. Jess wore a pale blue dress, and Jamie wore its lavender twin.

“Smile gentlemen.” The photographer said much too cheerily. When Patrice wasn’t being way too happy, she was coming onto Brody, and he couldn’t wait until Fallon showed up. Maybe then she would back off. Telling the witch that he had a woman didn’t stop her from hitting on him.

Brody stood to Adam’s right, Tomahawk and Dakota on his brother’s other side. He forced yet another smile and prayed they were nearly done.

“Come on Brody, you can do better than that.” Patrice bubbled, all chipper.

“She likes you,” Adam whispered.

He glared back until he caught a glimpse of Fallon walking their way. She chewed her lip as she walked slowly in seriously sexy sandals that made her shapely legs exquisite. That dress fit her like a dream. Oh wow, she looked… he didn’t have words.

“Now that’s a real smile,” the photographer exclaimed and he was blinded by flash.

He blinked a few times and found her standing just beyond the photographer. Her whole face had brightened as their eyes locked.

“Oh,” Patrice muttered. “You all weren’t lying about a new mate.” Brody glanced over to see her pouting.

Fallon rolled her eyes, and he had to laugh.

He asked, and was ready to beg, “Please tell me we’re breaking for a few.”

Adam slapped him on the back. “Yeah, Mom and Dad just got here. I think you should introduce her to them.”

Shit, he was so wrapped up with Fallon that he hadn’t realized his parents had arrived. He took a look around and saw them walking up. They were staring at Fallon with obvious curiosity. He knew they were going to love her, he just hoped she loved them.

He hurried to her side. “Hey, sugar. You are the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on, and that doesn’t even do you justice.”

She blushed, which she rarely did. “Thank you. You look pretty great yourself.”

“I want you to meet my parents.” He nodded to his Mom and Dad who walked up with Adam. “Mom, Dad, this is Fallon.” Brody put his hand at her waist. “Fallon, this is Rachel and Roger Dean.”

“Hello, pleasure to meet you.” Fallon said softly, extending her hand first to his mom.

Mom lit up, “The pleasure is ours. Brody’s told us all about you.”

“All good things,” his dad grinned, enveloping her hand in both of his. “We’re hoping you’ll sit with us during the wedding.”

“Sure.” She took Brody’s free hand in hers trembling one.

“I’ll just be taking pictures of the girls,” Patrice mumbled, and walked away pouting.

“Aw, I think you crushed her,” Tomahawk teased.

“I told her I was taken, and that I wasn’t interested,” Brody mumbled.

Fallon shrugged. “Can’t blame a girl for looking at you.”

“I only want you looking at me, baby.”

She laughed, “Yeah, well I’m not the type to keep you locked up day and night.”

He heard his mother whisper to his dad, “It’s good to see our sons happy.”

Thankfully the wedding went by quickly, and sitting with Brody’s parents was as awkward as Fallon expected. Brody cleaned up so damned well that he was just stunning in his tuxedo. And she loved Danika’s bright blue dress that matched her hair and eyes.

Jess pulled her to the side before she went through the line with Brody’s parents. “So, he liked the dress, right?”

“Yes, he does. Happy now?”

“Of course. And his parents don’t hate you.” She winked.

“Yeah, gathered that when they insisted I sit with them.”

Jess linked her arm through hers and dragged her through the line. Since the wedding party consisted of Dakota, Tomahawk and Brody on Adam’s side, and Jolene, Darla, and Danika’s little sister, Dominique, it went by fast until she got to Brody.

He pulled her into his arms and laid a quick kiss on her. “Couldn’t resist.”

She winked back at him before congratulating the happy couple. She saw Robert and Preston, and walked over to them.

Fallon was too curious not to ask, “Sticking around a bit?”

Robert nodded but he was staring off into the distance.

Preston’s gaze slid to Robert and rolled his eyes. “I at least have a reason. Robert, on the other hand, won’t tell me what he’s doing out here.” Then Preston’s gaze caught on Jamie who sauntered up to him with a devilish little smile in her lavender dress. “Why hello there sexy.”

Fallon groaned. “Really? That’s all you got for her?”

“Without being indecent, yes.” He grinned.

“Well go on, both of you. Brody should be done any time and you know we’ll be inseparable until they steal him for more pictures.”

Jess leaned in against her. “You are so hopeless, it’s so cute.”

Fallon flipped her best friend off as Slater dragged her away with a wink.

She turned to Robert who was impeccably dressed in a charcoal suit. “So how are you doing, Robert?”

“Same old, same old.”

“Does this,” she waved her hand around at all the wedding stuff, “make you think of Liz?”

“Yeah,” he sighed. “I miss her every single day.”

“Go find her then.”

“She doesn’t want me to.” He closed his eyes and shoved his hands in his pockets. “She would come for me if she did.”

“Bullshit. She’s too damned stubborn. She wants you to chase her.”

“No. She really doesn’t. Don’t worry about me.” He nodded at Brody as he made his way to them.

She couldn’t help beaming at her man as he approached with his warm smile. He really did clean up well and she so badly wanted to muss up his slicked down hair. It looked good, but she preferred it loose and shaggy so she could thread her fingers through it and tug.

“So, how many more pictures are you going to have to endure? You didn’t look so thrilled about them earlier.”

“I don’t think I have to pose anymore.”

“It’s okay if you do.” She wasn’t going to stop him from spending time with his family.

“You know,” he sighed, brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear, “I promised to help with the cleanup. We’re going to be here for a while.”

She squeezed his hand. “I was already planning to help, anyway.”

He pulled her toward the food table. “Let’s get something to eat. I noticed you haven’t sat down.” One brow arched.

“I was waiting for you,” she admitted sheepishly.

Brody realized he was the luckiest man in the world. Fallon was everything. He couldn’t wait until their wedding.

“Any other reason you’ll be pulled away?” she asked quietly, fidgeting with her bracelet.

“I don’t think I have to leave your side for the rest of the wedding. So you’re in luck.”

“Oh yes you do, and so does she,” Danika chimed in as she stepped up behind them. “For the bouquet toss and the garter toss. You both get to go up there.” Danika winked. Brody watched as his sister in law handed her full champagne glass to Fallon.

“Really? Do I have to? Don’t I get a break for mating and sealing with Brody already?” Fallon pleaded.

“No, besides it would greatly offend me if you didn’t get up there at the very least,” Danika pouted.

She rolled her eyes and grumbled. “Fine.” She gulped down the champagne. “Just don’t expect me to be all bubbly and giggly up there, shoving other women out of the way for it.”

Danika just shook her head. “You don’t have to steal the bouquet from anyone, just play along.”

“You better not aim for me either.” Her eyes narrowed and she pointed a finger at Danika. “I still think catching either curses a relationship.”

Brody squeezed Fallon closer. He loved the way she spoke her mind.

“Why is that?” Roger asked with an amused expression.

“I don’t know anyone who managed to stay married if they did get married after catching them.” She shrugged. “Seems to doom the relationship.”

Roger winked at Rachel. “We each caught them a month before our wedding, and we’ve been married for forty years now.”

“Then I stand corrected.” She paled and glanced at him. He smiled back

Rachel nudged Roger. “He’s just teasing. We didn’t catch either, and I’ll admit that I don’t know anyone who caught them who managed to keep their relationship going, either.”

Brody rolled his eyes and pulled Fallon back to his side. “Come on Dad. Leave her alone.”

Adam shook his head. “Really Dad, we don’t see you enough. I know you are both going back to Hawaii tonight, but you should both visit more.”

“Especially since we’re having a baby,” Danika announced, rather loudly, probably loud enough for everyone to hear because everyone stopped to stare. Brody had noticed that every time Danika had alcohol lately, she discretely handed the full glass to Fallon.

“Congratulations.” Fallon grinned at Danika.

At least his mom and dad were busy with the newlyweds. Brody tugged her down the line to fill their plates. “By the way, Mom and Dad want to take us to dinner tonight. You don’t mind, do you?”

“Of course not.”
